• Arrow keys to move
  • Z key to interact (there is nothing to interact with in this prototype :) )

I had an idea about a turn-based RPG with Undertale-style battle mechanics employing retro-themed microgames instead of bullet hell patterns. I wanted to tell a story about a mercenary trying to flee the life of constant fighting until she is stuck with a strange parasitic creature with a will of its own, integrating story and gameplay by offering the player a choice between struggling against nearly insurmountable odds or letting the parasite grant you power by consuming more of your body. This is not representative of those ideas. This is just a prototype with some weird overworld movement and scene transitions.

Made for Godot Wild 67. Feel free to look at it and rate it as you please. I honestly consider it a waste of time to "play" this prototype, but I feel it's best to submit something. I would say I learned a lot from attempting this jam. A lot more than not trying at all! I just ran into so many motivation problems, man. I guess learning to finish stuff is a skill I'll work on after learning to consistently work on stuff in the first place.

Thanks for checking it out. I may work on this idea more in the future, with a prototype actually representative of the neat ideas I had. Here's the source code for this project. Instead of waiting another 7 months to try a jam again, I'm just going to launch right into another. Follow if you'd like to see my progress.
